Social Networks Provide Crucial Support for Older Adults Living With HIV, Rutgers Health Study Finds
Having social support and strong social networks is vital to the health and well-being of older adults living with HIV, according to a Rutgers Health study.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science $39,673,786 over seven years to build and improve upon infrastructure that promotes clinical and translational science through the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS).

As part of its commitment to enhancing and simplifying research processes and policies for faculty and staff, the Office for Research (OfR) announced a major update to its Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission process with the launch of eIRB+. The OfR’s eIRB+ implementation team developed the new system in collaboration with over 500 Rutgers faculty and staff.

Rutgers faculty elected to the newest class of fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) have made a difference in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, are advancing the understanding of how the brain processes rewards and motivates behavior and are tackling life-or-death questions regarding the success of cancer drugs.

The Office for Research celebrates Women’s History Month by highlighting researchers and research leaders from both Rutgers chancellor-led units across Rutgers and the OfR itself.
