Biography

Lisa S. Correa is the Assistant Director of Training and Policy for Research and Sponsored Programs in the Office for Research. Previously she provided support and guidance to faculty and teams working on large-scale proposals and led the Research Development Professionals Network. Lisa has over 21 years of experience in research development and research administration in Higher Education.

Joining Rutgers in 2019, Lisa previously held the position of Director of Sponsored Research and Programs at the College of Staten Island, CUNY, where she led a team of 7 for 13 years. She has deep experience in strategic planning and leadership, is an active member of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP), and founded the Big Ten RD Group in 2019.  She has presented at numerous conferences and has served on many search committees and steering committees for university-based initiatives.  Before transitioning to Higher Education, she practiced law for 9 years.

Lisa earned a B.A. in English from William Paterson University and a J.D. from Delaware Law School. She is a Certified Research Administrator (C.R.A.) and has a certificate of completion in Research Compliance.
