Biography

Lisa Lyu is the Assistant Director of Licensing in the Innovation Ventures office managing an IP portfolio comprising Physical Sciences/Engineering and Life Science technologies. Prior to joining the office in 2015, Lisa was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Rutgers RWJMS. Her research focus was on the role of DNA topoisomerase II in brain development and in doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity. Besides research, she actively engaged in teaching and mentoring graduate students. Before that, Lisa was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University where she created a genetically engineered mouse model to study neuronal migration during brain development. Lisa holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from California State University, Northridge, and a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from Rutgers University and UMDNJ. Her Ph.D. work focused on RecA-independent homologous recombination. Lisa is a USPTO-registered patent agent.
