DeepTechU Conference
Taking place April 20-22, 2021, the three-day, virtual conference will focus on deep-tech ventures from university researchers across various industries and feature pitches, panel discussions, among other educational content.
The goals of the conference are to:
- Build awareness of deep-tech innovation and the important role of universities, national labs, and partner organizations
- Educate faculty founders on what investors are looking for and how to successfully get seed capital
- Create opportunities for more inter-university collaborations and multi-institutional teams
Four Rutgers University startups will pitch at this three-day inaugural conference. Those startups are:
- Led by Liping Zhao, Notitia Biotechnologies is a microbiome-targeted biotherapeutic company that leverages data from the gut microbiome to develop therapies and products focused on the ecological restoration of the gut ecosystem.
- Led by Jongmin Nam, Ciscovery Bio is a biotech startup specialized in the discovery and commercialization of non-coding biomarkers for drug discovery and precision medicine.
- Led by Javier Diez, SubUAS is a preeminent designer, developer, and manufacturer of autonomous aerial and underwater vehicles, which has developed a drone that operates both in the air and underwater.
- Led by Chuck Dismukes, RenewCO2 is a CO2 conversion to plastic precursors and other value-added chemicals conventionally produced from fossil resources.
