Grant Writing Mini-Course

Learn from a grant writing coach and recent grant awardees.

Get your team's Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) document development questions answered in these virtual sessions.

For Postdocs, residents, fellows, faculty, instructors, and clinicians working towards their 1st career (K) and research (R) NIH grant application.

This mini-course is intended for novice grant writers planning to submit a K or R grant in the next year.  Participants must attend all five (5) days/sessions. 

If you have experience with submitting grants to NIH already, this mini-course may be too basic for you. Likewise, if you participated in any previous bootcamp, the materials in mini-course may be a repeat.

Mini-Course Topics 

  • Day 1: Getting Started with Your NIH Application.
  • Day 2: Crafting Compelling Specific Aims Pages.
  • Day 3: Developing Your Research Strategy and Targeting Your Application for Peer Review.
  • Day 4: Aligning Training Plans for K Grants.
  • Day 5: Interpreting Summary Statements and Resubmitting Your Application.

Cost of Mini-Course

$100 for faculty members/researchers and $50 for postdocs/residents/fellows. If your application for the mini-course is selected, you will receive an email to submit payment.
