Biography

Maricely Ramírez-Hernández joined the Rutgers licensing team in 2022. As a licensing manager, she is responsible for the evaluation, protection, and commercialization of Rutgers inventions in the field of physical sciences and engineering. Before joining as a licensing manager, she worked as a Senior HealthAdvance Fellow in 2021 working with the Rutgers HealthAdvance commercialization fund to advance the development of health-related Rutgers technologies.  

Maricely holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico- Mayaguez and is completing her Ph.D. work in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering at Rutgers University. Her work focuses on the design and development of copper-modified mesoporous materials for environmental remediation and bactericidal applications. Besides research, she is active in mentoring students and developing underrepresented minorities in STEM.
